Compensating extract air while reducing energy consumption
Our intervention is located inside a large industrial building, which is part of a major furniture company.
Work is carried out on wood inside the building, which generates a large amount of dust, and the existing extraction system sucks in the air containing the dust and expels it outside.
Fresh air is passively drawn in from outside through naturally occurring openings in the building.
Request
The slight negative pressure generated by the extraction system leads to the passive entry of unconditioned replacement air negatively affecting the building’s energy balance.
This situation becomes particularly burdensome in winter periods, where the introduction of cold air requires more effort from the heating system, increasing energy consumption.
Solution
We designed an extract air compensation system consisting of a high-flow, high-pressure industrial IH/HR thermoventilating unit capable of handling 80,000 cu m of air.
The thermo-ventilating unit is equipped with a transducer that detects the building’s internal pressure and, based on the value detected, controls the inverter installed on the thermo-ventilating unit, determining the correct amount of conditioned air to be fed into the building, ensuring maximum energy efficiency.
The use of this system is particularly advantageous during the winter season, significantly reducing energy costs, but it is also convenient during the intermediate seasons, ensuring better air distribution inside the building, for excellent well-being of the people working inside.
Installation is particularly fast and integrates seamlessly with the existing dust extraction system and heating system, without disrupting the building and improving the building’s energy balance,
Blowtherm offers a full range of solutions for ventilation and air renewal in manufacturing environments to improve energy efficiency and comfort inside industrial buildings. With maximum efficiency and reduced energy costs.
