Efficient and modular painting system for high-quality finishes in the nautical sector
The client is a historic yacht manufacturer, active internationally and recognised for excellence in nautical design, technological innovation and build quality.
Request
The requirement was to create an industrial spray booth for large boats, capable of integrating into the production department and meeting specific operational needs:
- the system had to be installed inside the factory, but there was not enough space to pleace the fan units near the booth;
- the booth had to be modular and flexible, to adapt to both the painting of large hulls and smaller boats, optimising time and consumption;
- the ventilation system had to guarantee high power, high energy efficiency and precise control of the painting parameters, which are essential for quality finishes in the luxury nautical sector.
Solution
We installed a 35-metre-long Space industrial spray booth, an ideal solution for painting yachts and superyachts.
The booth is divided by a central door that allows for the creation of two independent work areas of different sizes.
This configuration allows only part of the booth to be used, heating and ventilating only the space that is actually needed, or it can be used in its entirety for large hulls.
This offers a concrete advantage in terms of production flexibility, reduced energy consumption and optimised operating costs.
To overcome space constraints, the heating and ventilation units have been installed on an external elevated structure built next to the booth, thus not taking up any production space.
The system is equipped with five high-airflow, high-efficiency heating and ventilation units, fitted with inverters and heat recovery units. This solution allows for maximum energy efficiency, reducing operating costs and improving the sustainability of the system.
All the functions of the painting system are managed by a PLC control that allows for automatic and precise adjustment of each stage of the process, both for individual zones and for the entire booth.
The Blowlight LED lighting, installed throughout the walls and plenum, guarantees uniform, shadow-free light, ensuring optimal conditions for the highest quality finishes required in the luxury boating and yacht building industry.
