The customer’s requirements were: a heating and ventilation system for the desired climate condition, sufficient air pressure inside the dome and low operating costs. The large air volume of and the huge span of the structure asked for special care in the planning and calculation of the system to ensure its safety, perfect temperature control and eco-efficiency.
Solution
We have chosen a ventilation and heating system for sports halls, which ensures reliability, safety and comfort in all operating modes as well as considerable energy savings.
The installed system consists of an automatically controlled hot air generator IH/AS in combination with an emergency pressure-holding blower for sports facilities GVE with LD diesel engine for constant power supply.
The combined use of these three units in conjunction with the Blowtherm Economy Controls makes it possible to deactivate the hot air generator and generate support air with a single pressure-holding fan. In this way, it is possible to keep the structure stable without heating in mild weather conditions, saving up to 40% of electricity during a single season.
In addition, the emergency back-up ventilation unit is automatically activated in critical situations such as strong winds, damage to the membrane or accidentally opened door to ensure 100% safety of the system. In combination with the reliable diesel generator, it stars up and shuts down automatically. To build up the internal pressure even in the event of a power failure.
